Sun Screen Protection starts now! Though I have written many articles on the importance of sun safety; it is essential that you learn everything you can.
Sun Screen Protection Day
Because I had melanoma 6 years ago; I have become an advocate for learning everything I can. So, I’m going to share everything I know; and some of this you may have already read in the past.
However, sun safety starts with you. In the first place, read the labels. Whether you are shopping in a store or online; select products that have broad spectrum. In my opinion, I recommend using a minimum of an SPF of 30+. Moreover, I typically look for a suntan lotion and accessories that have an SPF 50+.
When you apply sun screen lotion; it begins the minute you apply it to your skin. Therefore, it is essential you continue to reapply lotion throughout the day. Don’t be stingy!
Don’t Fry Friday
Though today is sun screen protection day; it is also known as Don’t Fry Friday. More importantly, this is a day you should know as much as you can. Check out my Why you Should Celebrate Don’t Fry Day – Every Day post and take steps to protect you and your family against skin cancer.
Because this is skin cancer awareness month; visit my May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month post to learn about the dangerous ultra violet rays.
In addition to using the best sun screen products; you also need to protect your eyes. For the best blocking sunglasses; look for a style that blocks UVA and UVB rays. For style suggestions on the best sunglasses for your face shape; check out my Express your Style on National Sunglasses Day post.
Also, you should wear a wide brim hat. For some of the best hats; check out 10 Ways to Wear a Straw Hat post.
