Sustainable Living Ideas – Summer Guide

So, are you looking for sustainable living ideas for the Summer? My guide will provide you with eco-friendly tips for a greener Summer.

Sustainable Living Ideas

Of course, living sustainably is always important.

When you are looking for some ways to enjoy the planet; I have lots of ideas for you to have a great Summer.

So, are you ready to go green?

Sustainable Living – Biking, and Walking

In the first place, try to leave your car keys behind and bike ride and walk more. Whether you ride your bike often or are new to bike riding; check out my Summer Bicycle Breezy Ride post for some paths near you.

However, if you don’t have a bike and prefer to walk; there are many places to explore. For instance, if you live by the ocean; take a walk on the beach. Or, walk in a park. Also, there are many walking trails.

Once you start walking or biking; you will cut down on using your car.

Heat and Air Conditioning

Indeed, the heat and humidity have many of us turning on our air conditioner for the season. Of course, I’m guilty of this. Usually by sometime in May, my Central Air Conditioner is running for the season. However, recently my husband and I had a Ductless Air Conditioner installed in our Master Bedroom to not only keep our bedroom comfortable but to cut down on the amount of electricity.

Cooper & Hunter Ductless Mini Split A/C – Heating System

When you are looking for a system to install; you can try to install this yourself. However, if you are not handy, I recommend you hire someone professional to help you with the installation.

This system comes with an installation kit.

In addition, this system can be used to cool or heat your master bedroom, kitchen, and living room.

Sustainable Living – Simplify Your Surroundings

Of course, living sustainably is important!

Indeed, there is no time like the warmer months to introduce fruit and vegetables to your meals. Because there are Farmer’s Markets everywhere; try some new recipes.

To beat the heat this Summer, spend more time in the water. Not only is this a great way to stay cool; but also is a great excuse to unplug your computer and spend hours staying cool.

Another idea is to compost. At the same time, composting helps the environment. Visit my Learn About Composting Day post for tips on creating a natural environment.

In addition, you can help clean the beach or park. Meanwhile, this is a great way to meet new people as well as help your community.

In summary, I hope my sustainable living ideas help you year around.
