In 2009, Anita Mitchell brought this day to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. After she lost a close friend as well as she developed this type of cancer; she wanted to do what she could.
Anita was 41 years old when she developed colorectal cancer. With her diagnosis at 41, she went on to learn everything she could about this disease. Today, she continues to volunteer and believes everyone who has a family history should begin their screening at the age of 40.
