So, today is World Sauntering Day. First and foremost, this faux holiday’s purpose is to remind everyone to slow down. Now is your chance to get outside and enjoy the day.

No doubt, everyone is always in a rush. Consequently, how many of us move at a fast pace throughout the day? Take a minute today and breathe. Like National Relaxation Day, today is a day to take it easy. When you’re young, you are encouraged to study and join various groups after school. As we get older, we’re expected to work. And after work, there are always a list of things to do at home. Indeed, the list goes on and on….

Hit the Pause Button

Hence, there never seems to be enough time to get everything done in a day. How many of us keep going without taking the time to take a break? Well, today is a day to change this pattern in your life.

So, are you ready to get started. In the first place, when you’re behind in your work, take a little bit of time to catch up. Hit the pause button today. After all, slow and steady wins the race. When your quality of work shifts, you know it is time to evaluate.

How many of us rush through tasks during the day? Well, lots of times that leads to mistakes. Now is the time to pause for a few extra minutes. Remember the adage, “Cooler Heads Prevail”. When you take a little extra time, chances are you will make better decisions.

In any case, it is important that we each find time to enjoy the little things each and every day. Whether it is spending a little extra time for ourselves or with someone else, it is important to take stock.

In light of World Sauntering Day, use today to rebel. Meanwhile, today is about finding a few ways to slow down and enjoy your life. The following are a few suggestions to implement to enjoy your life more:

  • Try to do less each day. For instance, take an extra few minutes to spend time taking a walk. Or perhaps, space out some of your appointments on any given day to give yourself more free time. Spend a few times a week making time to do something you enjoy.
  • Be mindful. By being present in the moment, you’re giving yourself the opportunity to decide what to focus on and what you can put off.
  • At the same time, enjoy your surroundings. Whether you live near the mountains or the ocean, take the time to go outside. Experience the beauty around you.
  • When you find yourself over the top in stuff to do, take a minute to breathe. Slow down. Take some time to exercise or clear your head.
