2023 NFL Season is Here

So, the 2023 NFL Season is here! Another season of kickoffs and touchdowns has arrived. The season begins today, September 7th.

Of course, many people don’t know that the team that won the Super Bowl last season plays in the first game of the season. However, in 2019, the New England Patriots didn’t open their season until Sunday night. And, in 2013, the Denver Broncos didn’t host the Baltimore Ravens due to a scheduling conflict.

Because the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl last season, they will open up the season tonight. And, they will be hosting the Detroit Lions.

Since the Chiefs had some key losses in the off-season; will their offense be as potent?

In the NFL, there are many teams and players hoping to shine this season.

2023 NFL Season Predictions

In the off-season, there were plenty of signings as well as trades. Although there are new contenders each season; what team will play in the next Super Bowl?

Of course, every season, there are predictions on which teams will be strong. In fact, one of the biggest surprises of the season was when Aaron Rodgers, was traded from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets. During Rodgers’ tenure, he won 4 MVPs with the Packers.

Although Rodgers was with the Packers for 18 years; there have been rumors over the last several years of a disconnect between him and the team. Now that he is with the Jets; will he lead the team to the playoffs?

Additionally, one of the biggest stories in football last year was when Safety, Damar Hamilton suffered a cardiac arrest in a game in January. Will his return to the game he loves carry the Buffalo Bills to a winning season?

Also, there are many other teams that are expecting to make a deep playoff run such as:

Baltimore Ravens
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Los Angeles Rams

New England Patriots

In their opening game, the New England Patriots will honor Tom Brady in their game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2019, the Patriots led by Quarterback, Tom Brady lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. Check out my New England Patriots Super Bowl LII Loss post to read about that match-up.

Now, Brady is back as a spectator. Will he have memories of Super Bowl LII?

Although there have been a lot of comments that this isn’t the best game to honor Brady; I disagree. Because it is the 1st game of the season: I think it is the perfect time to honor his legacy with the team. In my opinion, I believe Brady’s presence will energize the players and of course, excite the fans.

Since there were different offensive coaches last season; I think Mac Jones will perform better with Bill O’Brien coaching him for the season. In addition, I think the offense will be better than last season.

Based on the pre-season games; I’m not sure how the team will do. They have a tough schedule and though they are better than last season; I’m not sure they will make the playoffs.

Will the Patriots be 8 – 9 again? Former, Patriots Tight End, Rob Gronkowski believes the Patriots will be 9 – 8 this year. With their entire defensive unit returning this year; Gronkowski thinks the Patriots’ defense will shine.

Because I’m a Patriots fan; I will be wearing Patriots clothing during the season.
