Baseball is Back on July 23 2020

Baseball is back! So, after being on pause since March 2020; MLB will return to action on July 23rd and July 24th. Although this will be a short season; it will be nice to see my favorite sport return. To read more on my love of baseball; be sure to check out my Play Ball Major League Fun post.

Baseball is Back

Since Spring Training came to a halt back in March; there were question marks on whether the season would return. Or, would fans have to wait until next year?

Now, that the season will resume today; what are you most looking forward to?

Baseball Question Marks

Since the offseason had so many changes; it will be interesting to see how things play out. In the first place, there was the baseball cheating scandal. So, this resulted in parting with many baseball managers throughout MLB. Due to the cheating scandal, Alex Cora was let go in regards to his sign-stealing role with the Houston Astros.

How will the Red Sox do

Because I’ve been a fan since the young age of 6; there are a lot of question marks on how the Red Sox will do.

In the off-season, not only was Alex Cora dismissed; but also Chaim Bloom was brought in as the Chief Baseball Officer.

Moreover, the Red Sox traded Mookie Betts to the Los Angeles Dodgers. To read more about this; be sure to visit my Betts Trade Update News post. Also, Chris Sales had season-ending Tommy John surgery.

In addition, Eduardo Rodriguez was diagnosed with COVID-19. Since Rodriguez was the Sox best pitcher last season; he will not open on opening day.

Nathan Eovaldi will be the starter for the season opener. Although Eovaldi was a game-changer in the Red Sox season in 2018; in 2019 he wasn’t healthy for a good percentage of the season. So, is this contract a disaster? Or, will Eovaldi return to form?

Opening Day is Finally here

Finally, opening day is here.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic; many players have opted out of the season.

Meanwhile, instead of 162 games, this season will be 60 games. With a shorter season, how will this play out?

Indeed, every year a new team emerges. Who will be the last team standing?

As always, I welcome your comments if you’re excited that baseball is back?

Let’s play ball!
