Best Ways to Survive the Holiday Season
Since you may be hosting a holiday party, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Eve; I have some ideas to keep you stress-free.
Of course, no one wants to be Bah Humbug!
Shop Early
In my opinion, the best way to have a stress-free holiday season is to begin your shopping early. For example; it is important to make a list of everyone you have to buy a gift for. At the same time, you may want to consider shopping online to avoid running to a mall and not finding a parking space.

Best Ways to Survive the Holiday Season – Make Your Health a Priority
So, before you run around; take a minute to breathe.
Because many people stay up late during the holiday season; make sure you are getting enough sleep. Check out my March 13 – 19th is Sleep Awareness Month post for tips on sleeping well.
However, if you feel you still have a lot of things to get done; save it for the next morning.
In addition to getting enough sleep; it is essential to eat healthy, and drink less. Indeed, no one wants to be a party pooper; but it is important to know your limitations on anything you eat or drink. My recommendation is to have no more than 1 -2 drinks.
Everything in moderation!
Also, take the time to exercise. For example, take a walk.
Organization
In the same way, one of the best ways to survive the holiday season is to make plans in advance. Personally, I am always planning get-togethers a few months in advance.
Furthermore, make sure your family and friends save the date. Also, it is a good idea to reconfirm a few weeks ahead of a celebration that everyone is on board.
Also, a few days beforehand, you may want to send a text, or make a phone call so there are no misunderstandings about an event, party, or time.
Make Time for Yourself
Since the holiday season goes by quickly; make sure you take some time for yourself.
Whether you curl up in your room and read a book, go for a walk, or check out decorations; it is essential to give yourself some time alone away from big crowds.
Of course, it is important that each of us doesn’t get bogged down by a lot of chaos and noise.
Hit the pause button.
Power down!
Another idea I have is to schedule something relaxing for yourself. For example, make an appointment to get your hair or nails done. Or, you may want to consider a massage.
Keep Calm
In essence, it is important that you keep calm.
Don’t let little things bog you down.
As always, I welcome your comments on the best ways to survive the holiday season. What tips have you tried to have a stress-free holiday?
