Boston Marathon Monday Inspiration

In view of the Boston Marathon bombing of April 15, 2013, strength and perseverance have eclipsed the tragedy of that day. When you think back on that day, you remember the horror. Although there were a lot of serious injuries and several people died, there were some heartwarming stories as well.

While many lost limbs, they have gone on to lead remarkable lives and do wonderful things. Because of the survivors, we are left with an appreciation for how fragile life is. All of the individuals and families who had their lives impacted are an inspiration today.

Boston Marathon Weather

The weather in New England is unpredictable. Weather can play a part in the training and the race itself. Although many individuals have braved the elements in anticipation of today, it had me thinking a little bit more about how the weather affects the runners.

When I look back at the weather over the last several years, the temperatures have been between 50 and 60 degrees. Will we have favorable weather today?

Boston Marathon Monday Awards

The Boston Marathon award ceremony is at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. In addition, awards are given out to:

  • Top 10 Men and Women
  • Men and Women’s wheelchair champion
  • Top 3 age division winners in all categories
  • Also, the top 3 visually impaired

This awards ceremony is open to the public. Following the awards ceremony is a party from 6:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., to celebrate the participants’ accomplishments.

Conclusion

To sum up, the Boston marathon is a race that tests and challenges your strengths and weaknesses. While training for a Marathon is a huge commitment, finishing the race is a huge reward.

As always, I look forward to you sharing any Boston Marathon stories with me.

Happy Patriots Day!
