Enchanted Village Childhood Memories

Enchanted Village Childhood Memories

When I was a little girl, my Mother always took me to the Enchanted Village at Jordan March in Boston, Massachusetts. Due to this being a yearly holiday event for my family, it was something that I cherished. Although Jordan Marsh closed this event in 1972, it was an event that I remember fondly.

Enchanted Village History

This event was closed from 1972 until 1990.  When Macy’s bought Jordan Marsh, the Village was sold to the City of Boston for a City Hall display.  Because of the lack of funds, the Village moved to the Hynes Convention Center in 2003. In 2006, the Village was no longer shown. Furthermore, the village was put up for auction in 2009.

Hence, Jordan’s Furniture came to the rescue. So in May 2009, Jordan’s bought the remaining pieces and restored its beauty. Of course, the event runs throughout the holiday season.

Enchanted Village

In the first place, this was a yearly event for my family. When I had my nephew this Sunday, I surprised him and took him to Jordan’s Furniture in Avon for the day. Reliving my childhood memories, I hope to create a  new one with my Nephews.

Of course the beautiful displays are heartwarming. When you first enter, they take your photograph. Second, the scenery is delightful.

Of course, I was like a kid in a candy store. Given that this beautiful event brings a smile to everyone, bring your camera to capture the beauty. It is the perfect holiday event for all ages.

In addition, man-made snow showers everyone as you walk through the Village.

Other Attractions

As you leave the village, there other shows to see. Since there are so many things happening, you have many options. Some other things to see and do are:

  • Polar Express 4-D ride – Unfortunately, long lines kept us from taking the 4-D ride on a train through the North Pole.
  • Lite – a laser show that will have you singing and clapping your hands. My Nephew loved this show and spoke about it for hours after we left.
  • Enchanted Ice – an indoor ice skating rink to delight the entire family.

In addition, there was a fun game that my Nephew and I enjoyed playing.

Conclusion

In view of long lines for every attraction, I recommend arriving before the door opens. If you have to wait in line, it requires patience. While in line, many children were sitting on the floor. Since this is a free event, bring your camera. To summarize, this is great entertainment and sure to be a fun holiday tradition for your family.  In conclusion, make a day of it and you will be sure to leave the enchanted village with a feeling of enchantment.
