Holiday Weight Watchers Challenge

Holiday Weight Watchers Challenge

With my recent changes to my lifestyle, I wanted to dedicate this post to holiday weight watchers tips. With the holiday in full swing, it is time to eat mindful, not mindless. Visit my prior post on Mindful Eating. By taking a healthy approach to eating over the holiday season, we can continue to maintain progress in our lifestyle.

Holiday Weight Watchers

Since I joined Weight Watchers, I’m happy to report my progress. Although Thanksgiving was a big celebration and I have had a few holiday events already, I have continued to shed between 1/2 a pound to 1.6 pounds a week on an average. In addition, I have found by exercising and being on the go constantly has also helped me in keeping off any weight gain.

Holiday Healthy Tips

If you’re going to a friend’s home, offer to make something. By helping your friend, you’re also helping yourself. You will be able to celebrate by bringing a healthy dish. Also an importation substitution is trade cream for broth or I like fat free half and half. Furthermore, don’t leave your home on an empty stomach. By having something to eat before you head out shopping or to run an errand, you won’t have a temptation to stop at a food cart or drive thru.

When you’re out shopping with a friend, choose a restaurant versus eating at a fast food place in the mall. Also an important tip is to not buy a lot of cake, cookies or chocolates this season. Another food gift option is to create a healthy food basket. If you receive food as gifts, share them with Company or give some to friends to take with them when they come to visit. Another option is to donate to a food pantry.

Also if you’re attending a party, have a little something to eat before hand. You won’t be as hungry and can spend more time socializing. If you are going to eat, use a smaller plate. After all, small plates hold less.

Awareness

Plan healthy snacks throughout the day. In addition, eat when you’re hungry.  Also, don’t eat because food is nearby. Do not eat in front of the TV or Computer. Enjoy each bite. By slowing down, your body will be satisfied.

Awareness is key to maintaining your healthy lifestyle. I try and account for all my food each day on my Weight Watcher’s account. Furthermore, being accountable keeps you in line. If you gain weight one week, don’t fret. Remember to be more mindful moving forward.

Conclusion

After all, it is the holiday season. It is okay to allow a cheat day once a week. Do not deprive yourself. If you’re going to eat a piece of cake, cookie or candy, skip your morning latte. By making a substitution in your food choice, you can splurge a bit. Try not to overindulge. Moreover don’t berate yourself if you mess up. There is always next week. Holiday weight watchers has some good recipes to try. Also your weekly holiday weight watchers meeting has some good tips and coupons.

In conclusion, enjoy the holidays.
