Join me on my Weight Watchers Lifestyle Quest that I started three weeks ago. Since my Sister Edie died and hormonal changes, I’ve had fluctuations in my weight. Due to wanting to get back to a healthy lifestyle, I joined Weight Watchers.
Weight Watchers
As a subscriber to O Magazine I read about Oprah’s quest to lose weight. She engaged other Women on embarking on the Weight Watchers plan with her. Since I’m new to Weight Watchers, it will be nice to see the progress made by others.
Every week I get weighed in and attend a 30 minute meeting. Moreover, it is important to find a group meeting that you’re comfortable attending. Since I have attended three meetings thus far, I’m finding this one of my biggest challenges early on. I am hopeful to find a group that I can feel comfortable with and attend weekly.
Begin a Diet
So your ready to lose weight. One day you wake up and decide today is the day to start a diet. Every day people start a diet and hope to eat healthier. We all know good food. What is real food?
- From the Ground
- On a Tree
- Comes from the Sea
- Flew through the Air
Furthermore, examples of healthy food are:
- Eggs
- Fruit
- Fish
- Meat
- Nuts
- Poultry
- Vegetables
Moreover, know what bad food is. Stay away from:
- Fast Food
- Vending Machine
- Packaged Food
- Junk Food
Set a Goal
Of course it is important to set a goal. Equally important is to decide how much weight you want to lose. Set a reasonable time frame. Weight Watchers recommends 1/2 – 2 pound loss a week. Be realistic. Commit to change. One of my favorite expressions is “Slow and Steady wins the race”.
Points
Everyday I sign in to my Account on line and enter my food for each meal and any exercise I do. I was given 28 points a day and an extra 20 points a week. Because I have stayed within my points daily, I have been frustrated that I haven’t seen much weight loss early on. First week was a loss of 2.6 pounds and it seems to remain the same the last 2 weeks. Because I had a foot injury, I have not been able to exercise daily so that may be one reason my weight hasn’t changed.
Furthermore, points are a good way to keep tabs on what your eating daily. I like being accountable. By knowing what food I am consuming daily and see my progress, it will help me make any changes to my diet the following week. Of course – finding new recipes has been part of the fun for me. Last week, I made a delicious pork cutlet.
Follow through
Change is hard. Together with diet and exercise, you can expect to see results. Moderation is key. In conclusion, follow my progress. I look forward to any feedback and tips. Altogether we can accomplish a healthy lifestyle.
