June is Men's Health Month

June is Men’s Health Month

June is Men’s health month! Since 1992, this month has been designated to bring awareness to all health issues men face. So, this month is essential you schedule an appointment with your doctor.

June is Men’s Health Month

Because this month is dedicated to men’s health; it is important that you receive proper health care. Moreover, most men don’t go to the doctors as much as women.

Even though you may want to portray a masculine image; it is essential that you are aware of anything you are going through.

Due to many people worldwide putting off going to the doctor’s office due to COVID-19; it is essential you schedule a yearly physical exam.

In the same way, last year’s theme was the can do challenge. To learn more about this; check out my The Can Do Challenge – Men’s Health Week June 2021 post.

So, the goal is to encourage all boys and men to be aware of how important early detection is.

Furthermore, focusing on your health care gives you the opportunity to seek advice and deal with any illness or disease.

June is Men’s Health Month – Mental Health

When it comes to mental health; this is something many people suffer from. Whether you suffer from depression or are feeling overwhelmed; it is essential you speak to a trusted family member, friend, or physician.

Mental Health Awareness month was last month. In my opinion, this is something that still gets brushed under the rug. How many men are actually comfortable expressing their feelings?

Though there is still a stigma about the disease; this is now an issue that is at the forefront. Moreover, these topics can no longer be ignored. There are too many violent acts of crimes that happen daily throughout the world.

So, encourage your brother, boyfriend, husband, son or male friend to talk to you about what is going on. Of course, many men may hesitate to discuss their feelings with you.  But, the more you ask, the more they may be encouraged to speak to you. More importantly, you will be showing your support to improve mental health.

June is Men’s Health Month – Prostate Cancer

At the same time; one area that has been on the rise is prostate cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, every year there are more and more cases of prostate cancer each year.

Although this is one of the most common types of men’s cancer; many cases go undetected. However, there is some good news. So, if you have this type of cancer; it typically is slow growing and can usually be contained.

Also, the month of November encourages men to grow mustaches for awareness for prostate and testicular cancer. To learn more about how you can participate in this cause; be sure to visit my Best Moisturizers for Movember for the Month Not Shaving post.

Moreover, it is essential to speak to every man and let them know about the importance of scheduling a routine doctor’s appointment to be checked regularly.
