MAFS Atlanta Decision Day Reunion Recap May 2021

MAFS Atlanta Decision Day Reunion Recap May 2021

MAFS Atlanta decision day was Wednesday, May 12th. Before the show started, I wondered how this season would differ from prior ones and if the experts were going to have success with this season’s couples. Though I thought this would be similar to other seasons; I was wrong. Moreover, the episode on May 5th was a countdown to decision day – is this new for MAFS?

MAFS Atlanta Decision Day

Due to the pandemic, MAFS New Orleans was much longer than prior seasons. So, this season was much like others in terms of the experiment. To read more about this season’s couples; be sure to check out my Married at First Sight Atlanta Season 12 Spoilers January 2021 post.

Now that the 8-week experiment is over; are you ready to read which couples stayed married and what couples decided to get a divorce?

  • Clara and Ryan – From the beginning, this couple seemed like they were matched well. On decision day, Clara told Ryan he is her best friend and she cannot imagine life without him. And, Ryan told Clara that he 150% wanted to stay married.
  • Haley and Jacob – Awkward is the best way to describe this couple. Moreover, it was no surprise that they both wanted a divorce.
  • Paige and Chris – When they meet on decision day, it wasn’t a surprise that Chris seemed undecided. After a long pause, Paige felt she was undervalued and lost part of herself in the process and wanted a divorce.
  • Virginia and Erik – Though there were some question marks on whether they would stay together; it wasn’t a surprise to me that they decided to stay married.
  • Briana and Vincent – Since this couple was off to a good start from the beginning; they both chose to stay married and were looking forward to the next chapter in their love story.

MAFS Atlanta Decision Day Reunion Show

Though decision day is over; are the couples that decided to stay married still together?

So, the first couple to talk with Kevin Frazier was Virginia and Erik. This couple is happily living in Erik’s condo at the present time. Erik’s mother Donna joined the couple and said she is elated with how happy they are and she loves Virginia.

Clara and Ryan are next. At, the same time, they said they are renewing their vows and want to have a celebration with everyone they wanted to attend but that was unable to due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Of course, the question came up if Ryan had told Clara if he loved her yet. And, Ryan surprised Clara and Kevin and said he does love his wife and Clara told him she loves him too. Kevin asked if they had consummated the marriage; and they both made a joke out of it and kept it classy by keeping their sex life, private.

Every season there is a couple that captures the attention of the audience. And, this season it was Briana and Vincent. In fact, they are planning to buy a condominium in the Dominican Republic, buy a home at a later date, and start a family in the future. Kevin ends their meeting by telling Briana and Vincent they are an inspiration for all couples.

MAFS Atlanta Ladies and the Couples Meet

After the three couples above spoke to Kevin; all the ladies meet in a room. They all feel like they have a special bond and are like sisters.

Next, Kevin goes back to speaking with Paige and Chris. Though Paige and Chris went through counseling after decision day; they were not able to make their relationship work.

Chris’s friend, Pastor Dwight met with Paige separately, and Chris and Pasto Dwight have not spoken since. However, Kevin brings Pastor Dwight on stage and Chris erupts and walks out again. Clearly, Chris has anger issues and isn’t able to act in a mature manner to repair his friendship with Pastor Dwight.

Hence, the show switched to Married at First Sight Unmatchables: Weird Science. So, all MAFS fans will have to wait until next week to watch MAFS Atlanta Decision Day Reunion – Part 2. Until next week…

As always, I welcome your comments on MAFS Atlanta Decision Day.
