National Kale day is today. Since 2013, this fun food non-holiday is celebrated on the first Wednesday in October. Are you ready to learn about this super food?

First and foremost, kale is good for you. At the same time, this super food is loaded with a lot of healthy vitamins and minerals. In the first place, this day came about due to the healthy benefits of eating kale. Not only should you eat this food today, but you should make it part of your everyday diet.

The best time to start this would be in the Spring or Fall. In the same fashion, any member in the cabbage family won’t suffer due to frost or frigid cold temperatures.

Water regularly. Another great thing is you can plant the seeds separately or in a row. No doubt, if you plant now, this will be ready to consume in approximately six weeks.

Are you looking for ways to eat your greens? Well, don’t fret as I have some easy recipes that will whet your appetite. For something super easy and quick, toss your greens into a bowl, add a tablespoon of light olive oil, some fresh lemon, ground black pepper and a touch of sea salt. Toss together and voila – the perfect salad to devour.

Another great recipe is to saute some garlic in a little olive oil. Add some red pepper flakes, a hint of sea salt, ground black pepper and dress this over your favorite pasta, fish or meat.
