National Men’s Health Week June 11 – 17

So, this week is National Men’s Health Week. Consequently, this week ends on Father’s Day which is a further reminder of how important it is for all Boys and Men to seek treatment for any condition or injury. Similarly to National Women’s Health Week, this week is a reminder for all Men to take care of themselves.

National Men’s Health Week

In the first place, it is important that Men everywhere take advantage of screenings and health fairs held throughout the country. First and foremost, the Congressional health education program wants boys and men across the country to live longer.

Are you ready to take control of your health?

  • First, make sure you schedule a health and wellness check-up with your Primary Care Physician.
  • Since heart disease is a serious health problem; it is important to do some type of physical activity for at least 150 minutes a week.
  • Indeed, walking is a great way to improve your health. For more on walking, be sure to visit my National Walking Day post. No matter what type of shape you’re in, you can easily begin exercising by walking regularly.
  • Because you may be outside, it is important to wear sunscreen of at least an SPF 30+ Visit my Best SPF 30 Skin Sunscreens post for recommendations.
  • When attending any sports event, try to eat healthy. For recommendations, visit my Best Healthy Summertime Food post.

Importance of National Men’s Health Week

So, if you’re like most Men, chances are you don’t go to the doctors often. Of course, it is important to take control of your health. If you work for a company, check their dress code. Because most companies have a fairly liberal dress code; get into the spirit and Wear Blue Friday the Friday before Father’s Day.

When it comes to your health, it is important to take stock. Whether you need medical advise or treatment for a disease or injury; now is the time to phone your doctor.

As always, I welcome your comments.

Happy National Men’s Health Week!
