National Sleep Comfort Month is in November. To ensure you have the best sleep; it is important to get into the habit of developing good sleeping habits.

First and foremost, it is important to get enough sleep regularly. Indeed, the more sleep you get regularly, the healthier you will be. In the first place, one of the best things you can do for yourself is to establish a schedule. For instance, if you try to go to sleep around the same time each day or night; your body will function more like clockwork.

Because sleep is a big part of our life, it is important that we adhere to some type of schedule.

Sleep Deprivation Factors

Since we all know sleep deprivation can contribute to a lot of health issues; the following are some tips.

  • First, it is important you go to sleep and wake up around the same time daily.
  • Second, eating a lot of fatty foods before bedtime with high sugar or alcohol could alter your sleep pattern.

  • Fourth, if the minute your head hits the pillow and you immediately fall asleep, chances are you are sleep deprived.
  • Did you know light can keep you up? Make sure your room is dark and you have the right type of shades or curtains to keep light from entering into your room.

So, the amount of sleep each person needs varies. Personally, I  require much less sleep than my Husband. Consequently, each person’s sleep habits vary. One of the most important things to consider is to determine how rested you feel. Do you feel alert? However, if you feel drowsy during the day, chances are you’re not getting enough sleep.

For me, I have found reading tends to make me sleepy. Another important factor is to make sure you have a comfortable bed and pillow.

Meanwhile, I find it important to sleep at a comfortable temperature. When your bedroom is cooler, most people sleep better. My recommendation is to keep your bedroom at a temperature of 60 degrees. However, I admit that I personally sleep better even colder. For me, this product is a “Must” as I no longer wake up feeling sweaty. Say goodbye to Hot Flashes and wake up feeling refreshed.
