Native Fashions and Accessories

A few weeks ago, my Husband took me to an exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.  I thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many designs throughout the exhibit. Also, there were fashions, jewelry, shoes and accessories spanning the last 50 years. With my love of everything fashion; I felt like a kid in a candy store. Of course, I had a blast photographing the designs, playing with the fabrics and viewing the information displayed.

Also, the boots featured below and some of the dresses looked very current. In fact, you would expect to see on the runways and in specialty stores today.

In the last room; there were tables. The table had all kinds of fabrics and fashion words to play with.  Additionally, I had a blast grouping the fabrics, labels and photographing them as featured below. Furthermore, I was sorry to leave the exhibit.  Now, I have the photographs to remember my enjoyable day learning more about the history.Native American Fashion

Between the New Bohemian and Native American trends in fashion; I have seen a lot more fringe styles, beading and embroidery in fashion.  Of course, I’ve added green suede fringe booties to my shoe closet this past Fall.  In addition, I have many fringe handbags and fringe short skirts that reflect both trends.

What do you own in Native American Fashion styles?

Furthermore, I like the old tradition mixed in with the contemporary features making this style fresh and spot on in Fashion for now.

In conclusion, I’m sure Native American Fashion designs will influence future generations in the fashion genre.
