I recently finished reading Nine Women One Dress. Since I’m an avid reader, I enjoyed this witty fiction novel. While the story is centered around New York, its focus is about a beautiful dress created and a bit of magic.

Morris Siegel is retiring after decades of being the leading garment district pattern maker. While Morris is gearing up for retirement, he has one last pattern to create. Of course, the perfect dress of the season is created.
Nine Women One Dress
Although the novel surrounds New York City, it centers around nine different Women and the dress of the season. This black dress fits each of these Women perfectly and allows each one to take on a new identity. As the nearing 90 year old pattern maker says at the beginning, “A beautiful dress knows no age. It is boundless. A beautiful dress holds a little bit of magic in it.”
As we follow the dress of the season, we see it go from runway to the ladies dress department at Bloomingdales and from there onto the lives of nine different Women. Furthermore, the characters have luck on their side and the dress’s magic comes into play.

Featured below is a link to purchase this book. In essence, this book holds appeal for anyone in the garment industry, fashion lovers, and anyone liking chick lit. The pro’s of the book were, it was a witty fast paced feel good book that captured your attention. The con’s of the book were it was a little hard to follow some of the stories. I wished some of the stories were a little longer and some of the Women’s stories weren’t relevant.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the book holds appeal for many. All in all, the book has a story about nine different lives and surround the city, hotels, parks, theatre and Bloomingdales in New York City. Overall, an enjoyable read for a day or night alone.
