Clearly, the Sox playoff struggles were evident in both Friday and Saturday’s games. Although the Red Sox won the series opener with a score of 5 – 4, I had some reservations after seeing Friday nights game. Check out my Boston Red Sox Home Field Advantage post to read more about this series.
So the Red Sox opening day begins today in Tampa Bay, Florida. Since the weather is always unpredictable in April; I prefer the team to open up on the road.
As a result of the Red Sox season ending loss yesterday; the team will head home until Spring Training. All things considered, yesterday’s game was a great game until the eighth inning.
So, for the second straight year, the Red Sox clinch their second straight division title. With the 6-3 win over the Houston Astros on Saturday afternoon; the Sox will face the Astros in the American League Division series.
Red Sox clinch the American League East last night with an ugly loss against the Yankees. Together with the Blue Jays loss against the Orioles gave the Sox first place.
