The Dream Daughter Book Review

The Dream Daughter Book Review

The Dream Daughter begins in 1965 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In the first place, this novel is time travel. First and foremost, the question is what would you do to save your child? And, that is the story.

The Dream Daughter

When this book begins, Caroline is doing an internship in Physical Therapy. She meets Hunter Poole. When a Beatles song plays on the radio, that begins the story. Caroline introduces her Sister, Patti (who is a Beatles lover) to Hunter. From that point, the story begins with Caroline learning her husband had died in Vietnam.

Caroline is pregnant with her first child. As you turn the pages, you will learn that Caroline’s baby has a heart defect. Because Caroline played a huge part in Hunter’s life when he was down, he feels indebted to Caroline. At the same time, Hunter is a Physicist and wants to help Caroline save her baby. In Hunter’s opinion, he believes the baby can be saved.

As he explains things to Caroline, she decides to take a leap of faith in her journey to save her unborn child. Hunter suggests that Caroline travel in time for a breakthrough in 2001 with in-uteral surgery to save the life of her unborn child.

Although there are parts of this story that seem outlandish, this story takes you to a place you want to believe that anything is possible.

The Dream Daughter Book Review

In my opinion, the biggest challenge in reading this story is like feeling you’re riding a roller coaster. Although the book raises some good points on a Mother’s love, it requires someone the patience to read a time travel novel.

Although this book gets off to a slow start, hang in there. In essence, this story is a good book by Diane Chamberlain. Equally important is this book has your mind thinking about things.

Hence, I received a copy of this book to post a review by #ReadtheDream Book Club.
