How this Day Started
When this day was first celebrated; it was known as Admit You’re Happy Day. In 1998, Pamela Gail Johnson founded the Secret Society of Happy People. Since that day in 1998, the day has continued to grow in popularity and the Society declared the entire month of August “Happiness Happens Month”.
