When you have vegetables and fruit in a can; the shelf life is 1 – 2 years. Additionally, canned meat and poultry can last anywhere from 2 – 5 years. Also, canned oranges and tomatoes can last up to 18 months. In the same fashion, make sure you store your cans of food in your pantry or kitchen cabinet.
