Pizza Making

Pizza Making

Williams Sonoma in Lynnfield, Massachusetts recently held a pizza making class.  So, Rose and I have been friends forever; and since we both like to cook, we decided to take this class. Who doesn’t love pizza?  The day of the class rolled around.  The same day I was hired to write an article on the 10 best pizza places in Massachusetts. Mm – Ironic?

Pizza Making – Williams Sonoma

A special thanks to Nolden Johnson who taught the class.  He divides his time between teaching cooking classes at Williams Sonoma and is a Designer for Area 62 Studios.

Throughout the years I’ve participated in several cooking classes at Williams Sonoma and had the pleasure of meeting Nolden prior.  I was excited to see he would be teaching this class.  When I arrived, the cooking station were already set up.

Preparation

Nolan began the class by giving a description of what we would be doing.  He than proceeded to hand out  cookbooks for each of us to keep.  The cookbook featured below has 50 recipes and some interesting flavor combinations.  This cookbook is perfect for family and friends for meals or weekend parties.  It is an ideal recipe book for pizza lovers everywhere

We than begun the process of putting the pizzas together.  The first pizza consisted of slicing tomatoes, shredding cheese and adding fresh basil.  For the second one, we used a jarred pizza sauce, fresh garlic, roasted peppers and pepperoni.  In addition to the pizzas, we made a zucchini salad with fresh basil, shredded lemon, fresh mint and a little olive oil.   Furthermore, I was put in charge of shredding the cheese and Rose sliced the zucchini, tomatoes and worked on the dough preparation.

As we put these together, the anticipation rose to taste the finished recipe.  Of course, we had a lot on fun.  By spinning the dough we had a lot of laughs.

This was a fun and unforgettable experience.  Also, it led me to use some of the techniques I learnt in the class to create one for dinner recently.

In conclusion, take a class and have some fun learning some new recipes.  Have you participated in any pizza making classes?  Cooking classes?  What are some of your favorite recipes?
