Presidential Speculation - Who will be the next President - Biden or Trump

Presidential Speculation – Who will be the next President – Biden or Trump

Presidential Speculation – after a sleepless night the last few nights; the Associated Press hasn’t declared who will be the next president. Since there is still some uncertainty as I write this post; a winner will not be called until it is 100% certain.

Presidential Speculation

When the polls closed on Tuesday night; I was glued to the results. Since I was starting to nod off; I kept waking up every hour to check and see if there was a winner.

With the AP tracking results since the polls closed; they are not comfortable declaring a winner. As of now, Joe Biden has 264 Electoral Votes and Donald Trump has 214.

In fact, once they know how many votes are outstanding and if it is still a close race; they will not name the winner.

Presidential Speculation – Donald Trump Declares himself the Winner

At the same time, Trump calls himself the winner after 2:00 a.m. on November 4th. Although there were still millions of ballots that haven’t been counted as of yet; it is shocking that Trump is being adamant about this.

In addition, there are several states that are too close to call.

So, how does Trump declare himself the winner?

Moreover, Trump has requested an order for all votes to stop being tallied. Indeed, this is something the country has not faced.

Joe Biden is Calling for Unity

Because this race is still too close to call; Joe Biden is calling for unity amongst America.

After Trump declared himself the winner; Joe Biden took a different approach. At the same time, Biden is telling everyone to be patient.

Although Biden feels confident that he will win this election; he certainly is not comfortable calling himself the winner of the 2020 Presidential race.

Biden continues to remain optimistic but says the decision will come from the American people.

As American Awaits a Winner…

With so many issues going on around the country as well as the worldwide pandemic; this was an important election. To read more about the issues facing the country; be sure to check out my November 3 is the Most Important Election in our Lifetime post.

Of course, this election had a high voter turnout; and America is waiting on pins and needles to see who will be the next President – Biden or Trump.

In 2016, this race was much different. To read about Trump’s win in 2016; be sure to visit my Trump’s Remarkable Presidential Win post.

Regardless of Trump’s threats; Pennsylvania is still counting mail-in votes.

In summary, it looks like Joe Biden will win this race and end presidential speculation. However, the jury is out on what tactics Trump will pull out of his hat. Will he take this to the Supreme Court?

As always, I welcome your comments on the presidential speculation.

Lynne, well said. Pins and needles is an uncomfortable feeling mixed with high levels of anxiety and uncertainty thrown in the mix. The fight goes on and we will have to keep our sanity in check until a winner is declared. Hopefully this happens quickly, but I fear that will not be the case.

    1. Phyllis,
Thanks as I definitely had some sleepless nights since the polls closed. Now, my hope is that Nevada and the other states will post these results today and the election can be decided. Since Trump has already filed 4 cases, I’m afraid this may drag out for a bit but I think his claims are baseless as this is a democracy, not a bureaucracy. With Trump’s filings, it reduces equality.
      Best,
      Lynne
