World Humanitarian Day August 19th

World Humanitarian Day August 19th

In the first place, World Humanitarian Day is a day to honor individuals who risked their lives. At the same time, today is a day to take a moment to reflect on the brave Men and Women. Indeed, it is important to honor the humanitarian spirit.

World Humanitarian Day

The United Nations designated August 19th World Humanitarian Day. Moreover, this is a day in memory of the 22 United Nations and relief agency staff members who lost their lives in Baghdad 13 years ago.

Since many brave individuals help others, it is important we recognize their efforts. So today, it is important that we have an understanding of humanitarian assistance.

In addition, many communities and organizations use the day to hand out information about their efforts. As people spread the word, we are able to appreciate their work.

World Humanitarian Day Culture

In any case, many individuals put their own lives at risk to save others. Because of the casualties and violence happening around the world, we need to respect Humanitarian workers. We should have a zero tolerance policy for anyone who doesn’t respect these workers.

Not only is today a day to celebrate Humanitarian work, it is also a day to show solidarity. Of course, this effort has no cultural or national bounds.

As individuals, we need to do more. At a bare minimum, food, clothing, shelter and water are needed. Also, it is essential that everyone has healthcare and protection.

Let’s Make an Effort

Because we live in a volatile world; it is important we recognize the efforts being made.

We all have the power to help others and make the world a better place. Both the United Nations and the European Union have been partners in war and disaster.

Let’s celebrate the achievements others have made. By the same token, in a more compassionate world, everyone would receive the assistance and help they need.

What can we Do?

Today, let’s recognize those who have helped others. Because the majority of us are active on social media, let’s share a story of courage and resilience.

For every Man, Woman and Child who may need our help, let’s do what we can to provide any type of assistance. As economic conditions, global environment and health, poverty occur, we see people on the move. There is a need for more Humanitarians.

To sum up, saving lives is important. By donating supplies and money in providing safe food and water and medical care, we will be instrumental in our efforts to carry on better assistance and treatment throughout the world.

As always, I welcome your comments.
