Men Make Dinner Day November 1st

So today is Men Make Dinner Day. Now, this is a day I can totally get behind. Seriously, this fun non-holiday was created to get Men into the kitchen.

Men Make Dinner Day

Since I do the majority of the cooking; it would be nice to have a day off from making dinner. First and foremost, if you’re a man who loves to cook, you’re all set. This day isn’t for you.

However, on the other hand if you’re a man who doesn’t know your way around the kitchen; now is the time to begin.

For any man, today is the chance to show off your culinary skills. Or, not – just don’t burn down the house.

Celebrate National Men Make Dinner Day

In the first place, this non-holiday started in 1998 by Sandy Sharkey. Her reason for beginning this day was to get one meal a year created by her non-cooking husband. In fact, she even received a Canadian trademark name and date.

Because the purpose of this day is mainly to get Men who don’t cook – cooking. And, that doesn’t mean cheating by preparing a frozen dinner or reheating leftovers.

Men Make Dinner Day Rules

Yes, there are actual rules surrounding this day!

So, if you’re a guy who cooks regularly, today isn’t for you. Aah – I’m out of luck! My hubby knows how to cook; but usually getting him to make me something is tricky, however I did have luck recently.

  1. Indeed, cooking for your significant other will give you bonus points.
  2. Are there other Men in your network who usually don’t cook? Well, than today can be part of a yearly tradition for you and your Male squad.
  3. Because you’re cooking, you’re in charge.
  4. Whatever you want to make, the choice is your’s.
  5. Make sure you know where all of your kitchen appliances are.
  6. And, if you want to have fun you can wear an apron with nothing on underneath. Or, you can add kitchen tools to your tool belt.
  7. Finally, your recipe can include beer. Be creative!

No doubt, today can be the start of a yearly tradition for you and your significant other. Or, it could be a day that disaster strikes. Hopefully, nothing will be burnt.

As always, I welcome your comments.
