Golden Globe kicked off award season Sunday, January 10, 2016. The show consists of television and movie actors and actresses.

I always look forward to the award season and especially enjoy the red carpet show. This year was no exception as I caught the majority of the show. The countdown to the Golden Globe’s hosts was Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski as her new Co-Host. I always enjoy Brad’s commentary regarding the Fashions and find he usually hits all cylinders. Of course, this year was no exception. I especially loved how he talked about the biggest trends to expect in fashion. On the whole, fashions shined this year. This year the Actresses stayed away from the usual Mermaid dresses, Princess Gowns, and Transparent dresses. Fashions were much more elegant.
Black is always a go-to color. I was a huge fan of Lady Gaga’s style. I thought she brought glamour back with a beautiful custom made Black Versace long dress.
Lace was another popular style seen on many Women. Lace styles were:
- Rosie Huntington-Whitely. She wore a gold sheer lace dress.
- Bryce Dallas Howard. She looked elegant in a full dress with a sheer lace neckline.
- Giuliana Rancic. For the countdown to the red carpet, she wore a red lace dress with long sleeves and a high neck.
My favorite dress of the night was worn by Jennifer Lawrence. The dress she wore was fun by the two daring side cutouts. The silver linked necklace which stood out against the dress made a statement. She looked sexy yet sophisticated in this cutout red dress by Dior.
Ruffles were another big look on the red carpet. In particular, I loved Jane Fonda’s Subtle ruffle dress. Zendaya had on one of my favorite ruffle dresses of the night. Moreover, I am a big fan of the deep V-neck.
Best White Dresses at the Golden Globe Awards
White was worn by many Actresses. Some of the best dresses in white were:
- Jane Fonda
- Alicia Vikander
- Saoirse Ronan
- Laverne Cox
- Taraji P. Henson
Other trends were sparkles. Brie Larson wore a gold crystal Calvin Klein gown with sexy cutouts. Of course, Sparkles and Glitter are always a hit on the red carpet. In particular, Sparkle pops and this was a standout this season. I was a big fan of Rooney Mara. In fact, I thought she looked amazing.
Though I loved many of the fashions for the night; I was not a fan of the hairstyles on the majority of Women. Also, I thought the hair didn’t match the dress. On the whole, most of the Actresses’ hairstyle was very plain.
Of course, I’m looking forward to the Oscars next month.
