So, October is the best sports month of the year. Whether you are a fan of professional sports or collegiate events; you can find your favorite team or sporting activity throughout the month.

First and foremost, you can find a game on almost any day of the week.

When I was growing up, my Dad always had the TV on. His taste in sports went from baseball, and basketball, to football.

In fact, this month, you can find both college and NFL football games during the week and weekend.

Also, the NBA and NHL season is back. Finally, any baseball fan can watch their favorite teams competing for the World Series in the MLB.

Since I live in the Boston area; I have some of the best sports teams in the world in my backyard. For instance, the Boston Bruins had the best record in the NHL last season.

Also, the Boston Celtics have been a favorite for the last several seasons.

However, since Tom Brady left the New England Patriots; this team has done poorly.

October is the Best Sports Month – Baseball

Because I have been following baseball since the age of 6; I am constantly tuning into baseball games and checking scores. To learn more about my love of the Red Sox; check out my Red Sox Fan post.

Although the Red Sox have ended up in last place the last 2 seasons; I have hopes that they will be much better next year.

When they hired Chaim; Bloom I had serious concerns. Since he was coming from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Red Sox; I didn’t think he would do well in this market.

In fact, one of Chaim’s first moves in the off-season was he traded Mookie Betts. Visit my Red Sox Traded Mookie Betts 2020 post to learn more about this trade. So, the players the Red Sox received in that trade weren’t great. Hence, you don’t trade a dollar for a few cents.

In essence, this trade looked even worse when the Red Sox played the Dodgers in the Summertime. Also, Mookie Betts has had one of the best seasons in his career.

But now that the Red Sox fired Chaim Bloom; they are looking for a new G.M. and I expect them to be a much more competitive team in 2024.

October is the Best Sports Month – Basketball

Although the NBA is still a few weeks away from beginning the 2023 – 2024 season; there has been a lot of movement through the NBA in the off-season. The regular season is scheduled to begin on October 24th.

At the same time, the Celtics were heavily favored to win it all in 2022 – 2023; but, they weren’t able to return to the NBA finals last season.

So, both the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks are considered the favorites to win it all.

Due to so many moves the Celtics have made in the off-season; they are showing their all-in for the 2023 – 2024 season.

October is the Boston Sports Month – Football

When the NFL season began; there were a lot of question marks on what teams to watch to make it to the Super Bowl. Check out my NFL Season is here post to read more about the teams that were expected to make a deep run in the playoffs.

Surprisingly, the one team that was expected to make it into the playoffs was the Cincinnati Bengals. Because they don’t have good defense and their Quarterback, Joe Burrow was injured; this team is at odds to make the playoffs.

Moreover, the New England Patriots were one of the best teams in the NFL for the last two decades. But, since Tom Brady left the Patriots; this team has been really bad.

So, make no mistake about it – the Patriots are awful. In my opinion, this team will continue to perform badly for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, if you are a big Patriots fan; you are in for a bumpy ride for the remainder of the season.

October is the Boston Sports Month – Hockey

In the meantime, if you are a big fan of hockey; the 2023 – 2024 NHL season will begin on Tuesday, October 10th.

Last year, the Boston Bruins had the best record in the NHL. Visit my Boston Bruins Win Presidents Trophy post to learn more about last year’s team. Since there have already been a lot of trades and players retiring from the NH; what team is the favorite to win the 2023-2024 Stanley Cup? Will last year’s Vegas Knights make it back to the finals? Hence, early reports have the Toronto Maple Leafs as the favorite to hoist the 2023-2024 Stanley Cup.
